Project and Submission Requirements
You may not start coding or building until the start of the hackathon. You are allowed to meet with your teams before hand to ideate, collaborate, and anything related to preparation. As such, we will not accept any code changes after the deadline. And we expect the DevPost submission so be in at this time.
Prizes
Outlined on the Instagram, we have a distinct prize for 1st place. 2nd and 3rd placed teams will be obliged to additional raffle entries for Afropix.
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection
A team of judges will evaluate and score the submissions on a private rubric. Each group will also have the opportunity to quickly pitch their project during the closing ceremony, where the winners will also be announced.
Code of Conduct
All hackathon participants, including attendees, mentors, sponsors, judges, volunteers, and organizers, are required to follow this Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Expected Behavior
- Be respectful and inclusive of all participants
- Communicate openly and thoughtfully with others
- Be collaborative and supportive of fellow participants
- Be mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants
- Alert organizers if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress
Unacceptable Behavior
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or technology choices
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Inappropriate use of sexual images in public spaces
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior
Consequences
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the hackathon with no refund (if applicable).
Reporting
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organizer immediately. Organizers will be identifiable by special badges or shirts.
All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all hackathon spaces, including online platforms, workshops, social events, and any related activities. It also applies to conduct outside of the event if it has the potential to adversely affect the safety and well-being of community members.
By participating in this hackathon, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
